About

What a functional medicine consultation covers

A functional medicine consultation gives us time to review the whole concern. We discuss symptoms, health history, activity level, and the event that brought you to care. The visit may include a health history and physical assessment. We also review injury documentation when a car accident, workplace incident, slip, or fall is involved. This service does not replace every form of medical care. It helps our team decide which care plan, evaluation, or referral fits your needs.

What Functional Medicine Consultation Covers

Functional medicine consultation is a health review that connects symptoms with medical history, daily goals, and injury concerns.

  • Functional medicine consultation differs from a focused chiropractic visit because it reviews broader health factors before care decisions.
  • The consultation requires a clear account of symptoms and relevant health history, while Brentwood patients may also discuss accident or workplace records.

What to prepare before your consultation

Bring information that helps us understand your symptoms and the reason you need care.

  • A list of your current symptoms and when they began
  • Relevant medical history and current treatment information
  • Accident, workplace, or personal injury documents
  • Questions about care, records, or next steps
  • Details about activities that worsen or ease your symptoms
Process

2

3

Complete the assessment

Our team performs an individualized health history and physical assessment, including attention to movement and musculoskeletal concerns.

4

Discuss your care plan

We explain the findings and discuss a care plan tailored to your needs, goals, and activity level.

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

Questions about functional medicine consultations

Who provides functional medicine consultation in Brentwood?

Advanced Injury Care Clinic provides functional medicine consultation for patients in Brentwood and the Nashville area. Our team reviews symptoms, health history, and relevant injury records. We also provide chiropractic care and medical evaluation for concerns such as whiplash, neck pain, and back pain. A free initial consultation gives you time to discuss your situation and understand possible next steps.

What should I bring to the first consultation?

Medical records, injury documents, and a symptom list help us understand your concern. Bring the dates when symptoms began, details about an accident or workplace event, and information about care you already received. You can also bring questions about documentation, treatment, or referrals. These details help our team focus the health history and physical assessment.

Does insurance pay for functional medicine consultation?

Coverage depends on your plan and the services connected with your consultation. Our team can discuss the care being considered and the records needed for review. Personal injury cases may also involve injury documentation or personal injury liens. Ask about your situation before treatment begins so you understand the next steps.

Is a functional medicine consultation useful after an accident?

A consultation can help organize symptoms, health history, and injury records after an accident. It may be useful when neck pain, back pain, whiplash, or headaches continue after the event. Our team reviews the concern and discusses a care plan based on your symptoms and diagnostic needs. Results vary, so the assessment guides the discussion.

Can this consultation replace my primary care doctor?

This consultation does not automatically replace primary care. It gives our team a focused review of symptoms, health history, and injury concerns. Some patients may need care from other medical professionals, depending on their needs. We explain the next step and may refer car accident patients to local attorneys when legal help is needed.

What happens if I have no medical records?

You can still discuss your concerns without bringing existing records. Our team starts with your health history, symptoms, and physical assessment. Tell us when the problem began and how it affects movement or daily activity. We can then explain which information or diagnostic step may help guide the care discussion.

When Customers Call Us About Functional Medicine Consultation

1

Symptoms After A Car Accident

Neck pain, headaches, or back pain can appear after a car accident, even when the first concern seems small. The consultation connects your symptoms with your health history and injury records. Bring any available accident documents, then discuss the changes you notice during daily activity so we can plan the next step.

2

Workplace Injury Documentation

A workplace incident may leave you unsure how to describe pain, movement limits, or changes in your routine. Functional medicine consultation reviews those concerns alongside your health history and relevant records. Write down the tasks that worsen symptoms, bring workplace documents, and ask our team how treatment progress can be documented.

3

Unclear Cause Of Ongoing Pain

Back pain, neck pain, or other musculoskeletal symptoms can make daily activity harder when the cause feels unclear. Our assessment looks at the symptom pattern, health history, and activity level before care discussions begin. Prepare a short symptom timeline and bring past records so the visit starts with useful detail.

Sciatica TreatmentBurning pain, tingling, or numbness down one leg may point to sciatic nerve irritation. Sciatica treatment examines your lower back, hip movement, and leg symptoms, then targets the source with appropriate conservative care.
TMJ TreatmentJaw clicking, facial tension, or pain while chewing can affect meals and conversation. TMJ treatment examines jaw movement, bite-related strain, and nearby neck muscles, then addresses contributing tension with focused care.
Chiropractic AdjustmentNeck stiffness or restricted movement can make ordinary tasks uncomfortable. Chiropractic adjustments use controlled spinal manipulation to address joint motion, muscle tension, and alignment, helping you move more freely after an evaluation.
Spinal Decompression TherapyLeg pain or pressure from a disc problem may make sitting and walking difficult. Spinal decompression uses a specialized table and measured traction to reduce spinal loading and support relief around affected discs.
