3

Consider diagnostic needs

What to Consider Before Starting Jaw Care

Start with the symptom pattern

Clicking sounds, facial tension, and limited opening give us useful context. We review the pattern before discussing care, and we explain what the findings mean.

Use a plan built around findings

Individualized patient evaluations guide care choices. Your health history and diagnostic needs shape the plan instead of a fixed routine.

Know when another service fits

TMJ care is the wrong first step for severe swelling, trouble breathing, or a serious acute injury. Those concerns need urgent medical attention.

This is the most friendliest and efficient doctor’s office I ever visited. The lady at the front desk !!!! AMAZING. Great customer service. The doctor asks perfect questions and made me feel comfortable and confident with my treatment plan. Highly recommended for all patients. Even if you’re just learning to walk again! The equipment and service provided is well worth the visit.

My fiancé & I was in an accident on 4/16/2024 and since we started treatment at the clinic the staff has been very helpful. They’re very professional, polite& efficient. Dr. Roberts always make sure that she ask us if we’re ok before and after treatment. She also makes sure that we clearly understand the process and answers any question’s or concerns that we may have. I would recommend her to anyone that needs proper treatment after an injury.

Questions Patients Ask About Jaw Care

What symptoms may indicate a TMJ problem?

Jaw pain with facial tension, clicking sounds, or limited opening may indicate a TMJ problem. These symptoms can occur together or separately. Our first FAQ answer is based on the symptom pattern, health history, and exam. Advanced Injury Care Clinic reviews those details and explains whether TMJ care fits your needs.

How does the first evaluation address clicking sounds?

Clicking sounds give the evaluation a specific movement pattern to review. The exam considers when the sound occurs, whether opening feels limited, and whether nearby muscles feel tense. We connect those findings with your health history before discussing a personalized treatment plan.

What should I bring to my first jaw appointment?

Relevant medical records and injury details can help us understand your symptoms. Bring a list of current concerns and note when clicking, facial tension, or limited opening began. Our intake then organizes that information for the health history and exam.

Which part of jaw care changes the cost?

The evaluation and diagnostic needs are the main factors that shape the cost of jaw care. Additional services in a personalized treatment plan can also affect the final amount. We discuss those factors during the free initial consultation, so you can ask questions before care begins.

When should jaw symptoms receive urgent medical attention?

Severe swelling, trouble breathing, or a serious acute injury requires urgent medical attention. Those signs can point to a problem beyond routine TMJ care. For less severe clicking, facial tension, or limited opening, schedule an evaluation so we can review the pattern and explain next steps.

Why might chiropractic care be discussed for jaw concerns?

Chiropractic care may be discussed when jaw symptoms occur with related neck pain or other musculoskeletal concerns. The fit depends on your health history and evaluation findings. Our team explains the connection between the symptoms and proposed care before creating a personalized treatment plan.
